About The PRO ARTE Foundation

The St Petersburg PRO ARTE Foundation for Culture and Arts is a non-profit and non-governmental organization founded in 1999 (initially called the PRO ARTE Institute). The Foundation studies and promotes art and culture of the 20th and 21st centuries in five realms: visual art, contemporary music, contemporary architecture, cultural journalism, and design. The Foundation supports the projects of Russian artists and organizations, arranges exhibitions, festivals, concerts, conferences, lectures, and implements education programmes for young artists, journalists, and designers. Many projects of the PRO ARTE Foundation involve such partners as the State Hermitage Museum, the Museum of the History of St Petersburg, Peterhof, Tsarskoye Selo and Gatchina State Museum-reserves, National Centre for Contemporary Art, St Petersburg State University. The programs of the PRO ARTE Foundation are supported by the St Petersburg Committee for Culture, Mikhail Prokhorov Foundation, Vladimir Potanin Foundation and other organizations and foundations.

About NCCA

The National Center for Contemporary Art (NCCA) is a museum, exhibition and research organization which aims its efforts at the development of contemporary Russian art within the context of the global art process, at the creation and implementation of programs and projects in the sphere of contemporary art, architecture and design both in this country, and beyond its borders. North-West Branch of NCCA founded in 1995 became the first of the seven branches. North-West Branch of NCCA possesses a residence for artists in the town of Kronstadt near Petersburg. There, artists are invited to live and work within the framework of international art exchange programs.
